The daisy lives in the simple garden of the little gardener, nestled among marguerites and bluebells, between clover and dandelions. But now it no longer likes it there, for it has heard how magnificent the neighboring garden is. It wants to go there! With a heavy heart, the little gardener grants its wish one night and plants it over there. And so it awakes the next morning on a strange lawn, completely alone, despised by the roses, lilies, carnations, and pulled out by the gardener, who considers it a weed, and thrown onto the compost. It is already half-withered when a nightingale carries it back in its beak. The little gardener lovingly plants it back into the earth – now it is home again and content.
