A great misfortune has befallen the pony world of Equestria: magic has been lost, and fear now governs hearts instead of friendship and harmony. Therefore, the pony species now live separated by their kind. Earth pony Sunny Starscout – a very idealistic and positive pony – still firmly believes in hope for the divided world. When she meets the unicorn Izzy Moonbow, who has strayed into the world of the Earth Ponies, they quickly become friends. Since the other ponies are horrified by Izzy's appearance, the duo quickly takes off and embarks on an adventurous journey. Their path leads them through strange, distant lands – always with the goal of bringing magic back to Equestria. They face their fears, try to turn old enemies into new friends, and firmly believe that even the smallest ponies can make a big difference.
